Brunch with my Roomie
Today, my roommate and I went for brunch at the Lord Jeffrey Inn. I had a wonderful time – great company and delicious food, what more could I ask for?
Nevertheless, leading up to this wonderful experience, I was faced with a dilemma: order something sweet or savory for brunch. I definitely like sweet brunch (i.e. pancakes, french toast, etc) rather than savory brunch (i.e. eggs, quiche, etc). Â However, I find that when I order pancakes, I always want something salty a couple of hours later.
So I was determined to order eggs, and this went out the door when I saw ricotta pancakes with maple pecan butter on the menu. I was so glad with my choice. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and a beautiful golden-brown color. My roommate ordered a frittata (it kind of rhymes with ricotta!) that had pork shoulder, chorizo, potato, cheddar, and came with a side salad. It looked really good too.
I am very full and satisfied at the moment, but I am sure in a few hours give or take, I will be popping my head in my fridge looking for something savory to eat.
We have the same dilemma. Sometimes we order different dishes and share a little bit. Just thinking aloud. Looks tasty.
Haha very true!
