Tis the Season for Chestnuts

My parents gave me these chestnut treats from Japan last month, but I forgot to post about them. Don’t be fooled, my poor memory should not shed any light on the taste of these delicious snacks. Soft and doughy on the outside and filled with chestnut paste on the inside, they are perfect for munching on in the fall season. I wish I knew where I could buy them in the U.S.

Missing and craving chestnuts, I bought some chestnut and butternut squash ravioli the other day which I look forward to eating tomorrow for lunch.

Are those manju? I love those! My mom makes the chestnut filling every New Year’s for good luck.
