Home Sweet Home
It feels wonderful to be home. Yesterday for dinner, my mom made me one of my favorite dinners: grilled arctic char with roasted vegetables and string beans. I was so excited to eat fish again, and I am pretty sure that I devoured my entire plate of food in minutes.
For dessert, I had a very light and pillowy angel’s food cake. (It was the kind of pillow I wanted to put into my mouth). I have never been an angel’s food cake fan, but for some reason, I couldn’t stop eating the cake. The chocolate frosting was irresistible and best yet, there were no egg yolks in the cake. So healthy!
And here’s the inside of the cake. (Note: I did NOT eat all of this).
I want this food!
Everything looks wonderful but now I need to ask, will your mother give us her recipe for that great cake????
The bad news: my mom did not make the cake. She bought it from Glaser’s Bake Shop in NYC (on 1st ave and 87th street).
The good news: it’s just an angel food cake, with chocolate frosting. Alton Brown’s recipe looks really promising for the cake: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/angel-food-cake-recipe/index.html
I will try to make this cake over the summer and will get back to you if it comes out well 🙂
