Back to Reality
Though glad to see all of my college friends, I was a little upset to start classes again. My three midterms next week are looming over my head.
To comfort myself, I am eating the biscotti I made on Saturday. (I am also sharing them with friends. I can’t eat all 28 of them by myself).
On a happier note, I didn’t get a chance to post my delightful Saturday lunch with my friend at Alice’s Teacup. I love this place, and you can tell that it is popular because there always seems to be a wait. (So worth it though!)
I ordered a pumpkin scone, and my friend ordered a white chocolate raspberry scone. These scones were absolutely delicious, and they were served with raspberry jam and clotted cream. To cut the sweetness of the scones, we also both ordered savory crepes which came with a side salad. My crepe had ham, gruyere, asparagus, spinach, and tomato inside.
Though I am definitely not in a wonderland at the moment, I am grateful for the wonderful week I spent at home and the great education I am receiving.
I have leftover pumpkin puree from a cooking frenzy last week, and have been wondering what to do with it…you have inspired me to attempt scones, which I haven’t made in years!
Sounds good to me! I hope they turn out well.
